Student Opportunities
Brewer Veterinary Clinic is a teaching hospital and we offer several types of shadowing and externship opportunities. Veterinary medicine is a constantly evolving field, and it's certainly not easy. It's important for students to experience life in a veterinary hospital before making the commitment to pursue a career in this field. Students are the future in veterinary medicine, and we love to mentor and guide them in their journey to a wonderful and rewarding career. Job Shadowing
Students 12 years of age or older can spend part of the day with us, shadowing a veterinarian or technician. This is not a hands-on experience, but students are invited to be immersed all areas of our hospital, including exams and surgery. Licensed Veterinary Technicians
This opportunity is designed for students enrolled in a licensed veterinary technician program who are required to fulfill a certain amount of hours in a veterinary hospital setting before graduation. Students will have a hands-on experience in every department of the hospital and will be mentored by one of our own licensed veterinary technicians. We provide opportunities for both students who are in pre-veterinary programs (undergraduate) and students enrolled in their final year (post-graduate) of veterinary school.
